This is my first time participating in a game jam.
The theme this year is "Joined Together" so I tried multiple ideas surrounding a barebones top-down racing game.
The idea that ended-up working the best was having two vehicles to control the direction of at the same time but with separate acceleration pedals.

The two ideas that didn't make it :
- Having no wheel, but the speed-o-meter steers, meaning you turn left if you go slow and right if you go fast.
- Having a lawnmower tied to the vehicle and having to drift so that it goes off-course to cut the grass outside of the circuit.

I had fun while making this game and I'm glad I had time to test or implement most of the ideas I had.

Try and beat my time: 52 seconds!
Thanks for reading and playing!

man, hate that it has to be 2 playe

Funny little rage game, but a few things:

1. The long text in the start isn´t that helpful, little texts along the way would have been nice.

2. Maybe add some music next time. Some nice soundtrack can help every racing game!

Hope the feedback helped you, would be nice if you could check out my game "Square Pair" too. :)

Thanks for the feedback!

I don't get what you meant about the text in the beginning: aside from the the options and the restart button there's only 6 keys to memorize, 4 if you don't use brakes. Maybe I could have presented the text better, with little diagrams and color coded? In any case, I do believe the best solution to everyone's issue learning the controls would have been a tutorial map or area designed to let the player mess around and learn before the race.

I decided to make every asset myself and music is still sadly outside my list of skills for now, but having a song could have been great, I agree.

Quick tip : When commenting on someone's Jam entry you can do so on the voting page so that your own entry gets displayed under your comment. That saves everyone time looking for the game.

Oh, i know about commenting on someone´s submission page, i´m sorry, i just forgot it this this time.

Really enjoyed the experience having one part disjoint really add to the experience and the race is great. When you manage to get a flawless section the satisfaction is present.

This was great! I loved how the steering was 'joined together' but you could accelerate the cars (/rockets??) independently. Great idea and very fun to play

I couldn't beat your record though, after 5 or 6 attempts I was stuck at 1:02!!

I liked it!

Thanks for playing!

Don't forget you can also vote on any game you play from the GMTK Game Jam!
